Super Aguri makes an unlikely comeback

The Super Aguri name will return to international motorsport in 2014 for the first time since the Anglo-Japanese squad pulled out of Formula One mid-way through the 2008 season.

They will compete in the new FIA Formula E championship for electric cars under the guise Super Aguri Formula E, or SAFE.

Former Super Aguri F1 technical chiefs Mark Preston and Peter McCool will also be part of the operation which aims to represent Japan and Asia when the 10-race Formula E season kicks off next September in Beijing.

Super Aguri becomes the sixth confirmed team out of 10 with Britain's Drason Racing, China Racing, IndyCar squads Andretti Autosport and Dragon Racing and French single seater outfit DAMS all entered so far.
